Today, I have some fun Graduation bookmarks to share, featuring the new Way to go owl stamp set and Cotton twines.
To create these bookmarks, I cut two panels 2 by 6 inches. I stamped the cute owls and masked them. For the owl on books, I masked the books prior to stamping the image, using masking tape. I then blended Distress oxide Scattered straw and Mustard seed on one bookmark, and Milled lavender and Wilted violet on the other.
I then unmasked the images and stamped the sentiments with black ink, using the same set, as well as the Cute peekers set.
I then colored the images with Copic markers, inverting colors, using yellow on the purple background and vice versa.
I then selected a yellow and lavender paper from the Pop flowers paper pad and darkened the edges with Mustard seed and Wilted violet. I then glued them at the back of the owl bookmarks, mixing and matching colors: yellow background behind the purple front and vice versa.
I then laminated the bookmarks with my Mini Minc, using laminating pouches. I then trimmed the excess plastic around the bookmarks, punched a hole at the top and trimmed the corners with a corner trimmer. I ran them through my Mini Minc again to seal the edges and finally tread cotton twine.
