Coloured embossing powders – what a difference they make! Hi Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper and I have a set of four cards today that are pretty much identical, except for the embossing powders I chose. I’m just back from a driving trip across Australia and back, so if you’ve seen nothing of me fro a couple of weeks, that’s the reason. Let’s look at the cards!

I created the background papers for all four papers by blending Pink and Main Inks in Construction (orange)and The Park (lime green) onto some white card. I used my Mini Ergonomic Blending Brush, and added the inks in random areas. Two of the panels use a heavy hand with the inks, and two of them are much lighter and more subtle. Once I’d finished the blending, I spattered water onto the cards, and mopped it up with paper towel. Pink and Main inks react beautifully to water.

Next I stamped the main image. I used the Dearest Friend Stamp set which has this truly gorgeous butterfly. It’s one of my all time favourites from Pink and Main. I stamped with Watermark and embossing ink, and then sprinkled on and heat set four different embossing powders. I’ve listed them below, along with the enamel dot packs that I paired with them.
Sherbet Embossing Powder, and Rainbows Glitter Enamel dots
Frosting Embossing Powder , with Dragonfly Dreams Enamel dots
Martini Olive Embossing Powder, and Rainbows Glitter Enamel dots
Golden Palace Embossing Powder and Gold Glossy Dots

The sentiment comes from a stamp set called Floral Sprays which has several lovely bouquets, and three sentiments like this thank you. It also has “thinking of you” and “get well wishes” – all really useful sentiments.

That’s all for today’s cards. I hope that you are having a wonderful day. I look forward to sharing more cards with you soon.
Blessings,
Donna
