Hello crafty friends.
It’s Donna here, back again to share another butterfly card. This will be my last post shared from Australia, so I’ll see you again in a week or so from warm Japan. Don’t worry – the craft supplies are safely packed – they went in first!
I love this Butterfly Cover Die so much! Really, I could just make butterfly cards all day. With my previous cards showcasing this Die (here and here ), I coloured the butterfly bodies. This time, to give a different look, I have coloured behind the butterflies. This is actually much faster, if you’re short of time, and the effect is lovely. I think it would look wonderful with patterned papers such as this one stuck behind the butterflies too. The have blended two colours of Surface ink for all the parts of this card. These were Barbershop and Riverwalk.
I used the same two colours on the sentiment which I die cut from the Hello dies, and covered in Glossy Accents. I layered this up with three white hello die cuts to give the sentiment more dimension.
Finally, I folded the butterfly wings up nice and high, so that the colour underneath would show through.
It is such a pleasure sharing these cards with you. I hope you are enjoying the July release as much as I am!
Until next time, happy crafting!
