Hi again! Annie back today with a fun project perfect for a child’s birthday party. I cut these vellum treat bags with my Silhouette and embellished them with die-cut stamped images from the “What a Hoot” set. Did you know that Pink & Main is offering dies for some of their stamp sets now?
I started by stamping out all of the images from the set onto some cardstock. I knew I wanted to decorate my bags with patterned paper, but lately I have had a tendency to color my images however I like and then regret it when I can’t find paper that matches. So this time, I picked out a pad of paper first, then colored my owls to match with alcohol markers.
The dies that coordinate with the “What a Hoot” set cut out pretty much everything except the sentiments! You can even stamp the smallest star images in colored ink and cut them out…just line up the dies over your images and run your sandwich through your preferred die-cutting machine.
If you do a good job lining them up (I think I did ok for the most part here…), you get the perfect thin white border around your stamped images.
The chevron treat bag cut file is actually available from Designs on Cloud 9 (Pink & Main’s sister company) in the Silhouette Design Store here. I cut the main bag shape out of vellum and adhered the chevrons made from patterned paper on top.
The circles were cut manually with dies from some white cardstock. I adhered the stars directly to the circles with glue, but popped the owl images up with a little foam tape.
Now the bags are ready for filling with any favorite treats and party favors. I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy project…you can head on over to my blog for more supply details!
