Hello Pink and Main friends.
It’s Donna here, checking in from Japan, where I have had the whole of March to stay home and play. I hope that you are keeping well and finding lots of extra time to colour. I have been enjoying tackling projects that take longer to colour, and really enjoying the process along the way.
This card was made using one of the larger stamps in the upcoming Pink and Main release. This single stamp does the whole background in one stamping, and it’s so cute!
I stamped in Copic friendly ink and coloured the whole stamp using just three primary colours, with two shades of red for some depth. I first coloured the background using a mid blue. I then used Copic Various Ink on a piece of terry towelling cloth ( is that an Australian term? – it’s the cloth that towels are made from) to splotch the background. I balled up a small piece of cloth so that there was about 1-2cm in contact with the paper, then counted to 3 before moving to another area. The texture of the cloth created the spots.
Next, I went around and coloured each of the gifts in yellow and red combinations, trying to lay down roughly equal amounts of each colour in each section of the card.
I finished the panel by cutting it with the largest stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles 2 set. I used the smallest rectangle from this set to cut some white card for my sentiment, which I have to admit to taking scissors to. Some layering with yellow and blue papers completed this card, which has only the simplest of colouring.
I know you’re going to love this release. I haven’t stopped playing with it since it arrived in my mailbox.
Until next time, stay well, stay safe, and may you find time to get crafty.
Blessings,
Cute!
Have a great day!
