Hi friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing a sweet card that could be used for condolences or for anyone going through a hard time that you want to send some love. I fell in love with the new Inked Oasis 6×6 paper pad that came out with this newest release and I wanted to create my own kind of stained glass effect with it for this card.
I started out by trimming black card stock down to an A2 sized panel 4.25 in x 5.5 in and a piece of white card stock to 4 in x 5.25 in. I adhered these together and set them aside. Next I took the the larger die from the Floral Corner Dies and die cut two papers from the Inked Oasis pad, one that was pink and orange and the other was different greens. I also used the die to create a black frame which I glued to the white card panel in the lower left corner Then I started adding small drops of glue into each open area and used a craft pick to fill in each section of the frame with the coordinating colors, oranges and pinks for the flowers and greens for the leaves. This process did take a little time but it was really calming and it was very satisfying to see it slowly fill in.
Once everything was in place, I grabbed one of the longer sentiments from the Here for You stamp set and it fit perfectly in the upper corner of the card. I love this stamp set because all of the sentiments are so honest and heartwarming. I stamped the sentiment in black to keep everything simple and clean and then attached the panel onto a blank side folding card base. I am so in love with how this card turned out and I cannot wait to play even more with this new paper pad – it is so much fun with zero of the mess that usually comes from making inky backgrounds.
