Hello, fellow crafters! It’s Lynnea! Who’s ready for a sneak peek at the October release from Pink & Main?! This release is SO AWESOME!! It will be available on next Thursday, the 25th of October! You can shop the release then under the “new” tab in the shop!
I LOVE that there’s a new background die! And it’s square! I LOVE background dies because they are so versatile! You can cut them and use them as they’re intended to be used, you can do an inlay technique, you can die cut it from plastic and use it as a stencil…and you can emboss with them! That’s what I chose to do today!
I used my Versamark ink pad and ever soooooo lightly tapped it onto the new Quilt Square 1 die and taped it to a piece of 110 lb white cardstock. You want to be SUPER careful not to shift it or the Versamark will get in places you don’t want it! I used my Big Shot by Sizzix and set up my embossing sandwich as such – The base plate open to tab 1, a cutting plate, a tan embossing pad, the cardstock with the die on top, and another cutting plate on top. Just like you would use an embossing folder! I ran it through only once and used some Bluetiful embossing powder from WOW! So rather than cutting out the pieces I’m left with an embossed detail with some shine from the powder! I LOVE this technique!
I used some images from the new Sewing stamp set and their coordinating dies to finish off the card. I embossed the sewing machine with Copacabana and the scissors with Aladdin powders from WOW! I wanted a simple sentiment strip. I kept all the focus on the FABULOUS background die!
Thanks for joining me!
That’s a great, super cute sewing machine. I love your design.
