Hello, again! It’s Andrea back with you today sharing two quick cards created with some of the new butterfly-themed products.
I absolutely love to color, but sometimes I only have time for a quick card. These two cards came together really fast, but they are so elegant that no one will guess how easy they are! Hooray!
My first card features the gorgeous butterfly from You Can Fly. I white heat-embossed the image onto vellum before die-cutting it with the coordinating die. I love how lacy and delicate it looks!
I had a rejected, alcohol-ink background in my stash from which I die-cut a second butterfly. I adhered the embossed butterfly over the alcohol one, bending up the wings and only adding glue to the body.
I didn’t have embossing powder that matched the colors of my butterfly, but the Skyscraper ink was a perfect match! Using my MISTI and working on a top-folding, white card, I first stamped the sentiment from You Can Fly with Skyscraper and then stamped it again with Versamark before clear heat-embossing it. I adhered the layered butterfly above the sentiment and finished with some clear rhinestones on the butterfly’s body.
My second card uses the emboss resist technique with the Butterfly Background stamp. After treating a panel of white cardstock with my anti-static tool, I stamped the image with Versamark and white heat-embossed it.
I ink-blended with Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Salty Ocean distress inks. After buffing the panel with a paper towel to remove any excess ink from the embossed images, I die-cut the panel with one of the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 Dies and adhered it to a top-folding, white card.
I white heat-embossed a sentiment from You Can Fly onto a strip of cardstock that I bannered at both ends. I die-cut a vellum butterfly with the You Can Fly die and adhered the sentiment strip on top with foam tape. After adhering some clear sequins to the vellum butterfly, I adhered it to my card, hiding my adhesive behind the sequins and sentiment strip.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wow I love the way you layered the alcohol piece underneath. I will have to try that out!
