Hello, everyone! Lynnea here and I’m sharing some colorful Butterfly Background cards! I made two cards using the new Butterfly Background stamp, Pattern Maker, and You Can Fly stamps along with some new ink colors!
I had so much fun with the Butterfly Background stamp! It’s gorgeous! And the new ink colors are too!
For this first card I stamped the Butterfly Background stamp four separate times using a technique by Jennifer McGuire. Each time I stamped a different corner of the paper in a different color ink. I love this color blocking technique! I started with Street Light in the top left, then The Park in the top right, Construction in the bottom right, and finished with Skyscraper in the bottom left. Skyscraper is one of my favorites of the new inks! It’s so pretty! I heat embossed the butterfly detail stamp from the You Can Fly stamp set with teal embossing powder to match the Skyscraper ink onto some vellum and cut it out with the coordinating die. The sentiment is also from the You Can Fly stamp set.
This next card is actually pieced together from scrap card panels! Can you believe it! I was just messing around and decided to pull them together into a card! I stamped the Butterfly Background stamp with Skyscraper ink, but you can see I had some leftover ink on the top right of my card from when I tested the Street Light ink. I almost threw it away…but then I looked again and I really liked the mixing of the inks! I used the new Pattern Maker stamps with the new Salon and Street Light inks to build my diagonal striped piece. I cut it off and glued it to the bottom of my butterfly stamped piece. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the You Can Fly stamp set onto black cardstock and used it to make the background more cohesive. I also gold heat embossed the detail butterfly image onto vellum and used the matching die to cut it out.
And those are my two cards! I hope you’ve enjoyed them!
Pretty cards!
Have a great day!
