Hi,
today I would like to speak about watercolour markers. I tried one very cheap and than I bought awesome Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and I have to say, NO more cheap markers. Honestly you can buy cheap markers for really good price but than you will be fighting with pigment. Cheap watercolour markers are really poor pigmented and you cannot use them in full range. Pigment is not moving with water and it looks like made with school markers.
I know there are many brands of watercolour markers but Kuretake I think are the best. They are highly pigmented, they have real brush nib, soft, flexible so easy to use. I have set of 48 markers and I think it is enough for stamp colouring because you can really play with them. They react with water and also you can draw one colour over another. I encourage you go to Youtube and watch videos where professionals draw with them.
When I use Zig markers I always stamp with water resistant ink (Versa Fine or Archival) on watercolour paper.
For all markers I have of course swatch book. Just on watercolour paper scribbled colours. I did not take full photo of it because you can really better see it on Youtube.
Great function of these markers is that you can stamp with them. Just scribble colour on stamp and stamp it. Than you can take watercolour brush and slightly move colour. As you can see on my next final photo. I stamped hearts from stamp set – Ever after. Only the lightest hearts are hand drawn.
I am not really artist, I just play with stamps a lot and as you can see with Zig markers you can make artist-look colouring.
Also sentiment is stamped with Zig markers.
Have a nice day
Kate
