Monthly Card Challenge #19: Shiny Things

It’s time to kick off our monthly challenge for July! Our challenges begin on the second Friday of each month, and each month has a different theme. We hope you’ll use it as inspiration to create a card!

This month’s theme is: Shiny Things! This month we’re focusing on all things SHINY!! We challenge you to add some shimmer and shine to your card. It can be through foiling, glitter, embellishments, embossing powder, shiny metallic cardstock – whatever inspires you!

CHALLENGE RULES!

  1. Pink & Main products must be used on challenge entries.
  2. Cards must be a NEW creation, created specifically for this challenge.
  3. Enter as many times as you’d like.

Enter your cards for this month’s challenge in one of two ways: in the Inlinkz link-up at the bottom of this post, or in the July challenge album in the July Challenge Album in the Pink & Main Creations Gallery Facebook Group. Enter for a chance to win a Pink & Main store credit worth $25.

Submissions close on Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59pm ET. The winning entry will be selected randomly and posted with the next new challenge blog post.

Now let’s check out the inspiration from our Challenge Team. Keep in mind that shimmer and shine is some of the hardest stuff to photograph! So use your imagination, and imagine the shine these would have if you saw them in person! 😊

Brennan created this adorable underwater scene, combining the Ride Any Wave stamps and dies with the Layered Ocean View Dies. His shine comes from ink blending Blue Jeans Twinkle Ink all over his background.

Dominique used a couple of our favorite ways to add shine – foiling and glitter paper! She foiled a greeting from the Beach Sayings Foilables® Panels with Fairy Wings Blue CheerFoil®, and cut out the Ribbons and Bows Frame Dies from the glitter paper. It’s all sitting on paper from the Under the Sea Paper Pack.

How adorable is this truckload of flamingos, created by Jennifer? So cute!! She added Ice Rink Glitter to the flamingo beaks and wings, and also some metallic silver cardstock to the truck details!

Karidan created this gorgeous Hello Friend Pop Up Card. She added some glitter to her flower petals (very hard to photograph!) as well as shiny silver cardstock in her greeting.

It’s not hard to spot Michelle’s shine – she used that fun glitter paper for her Big Hello greeting as well as her layers. There’s also some Touch of Gloss on the eyes of the owl from Pumpkin Spice Cuties. Her patterned papers come from the Hello Fall Paper Pack.

Rosie added shine with the Ride the Waves Foilables® Sheets and Ocean Waters CheerFoil®. There’s also some Blue Jeans Twinkle Ink too for a little more sparkle. She used the adorable Shrimply the Best stamp set to finish her scene.

We loved seeing all of your Sketch Challenge creations from the June challenge! We randomly chose a winner from all of the entries – congratulations to Angie Smith, who shared her card in the June album in the Pink and Main Creations Gallery Facebook group! Please send us an email to support@pinkandmain.com to claim your $25 store credit!

Now it’s your turn, we hope you’ll play along! You have until Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59pm ET to add your link to your NEW CREATION FEATURING PINK & MAIN PRODUCTS using our theme to be eligible for the prize of a $25 store credit. (Cards created prior to this challenge are not acceptable entries.) The winner will be chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! Simply post your card photo someplace with public access – a blog, social media post, or host site that displays your entry – and add it into the Inlinkz link-up below. OR, add it to the July Challenge Album in the Pink & Main Facebook Group.

Good luck and have fun playing!
