Monthly Card Challenge #8: Sketch Challenge

It’s time to kick off our monthly challenge for August! Our challenges begin on the second Friday of each month, and each month will have a different theme. We hope you’ll use it as inspiration to create a card!

This month’s theme is: a Sketch Challenge!

This time we have something a little different for you – a sketch challenge! We hope you have fun and are inspired by this fun card sketch. Follow it to a T, or use a loose interpretation – however you are inspired, just get your craft on and create something!

Pink & Main products are encouraged on your challenge card, but not required. We just want to see what this month’s theme inspires you to create! You can enter your cards for this month’s challenge in one of two ways: in the Inlinkz link-up at the bottom of this post, or in the August album in our Pink & Main Creations Gallery Facebook Group. Enter for a chance to win a Pink & Main store credit worth $25.

Submissions close on Wednesday, September 10 at 11:59pm ET. The winning entry will be selected randomly and posted with the next new challenge blog post.

Now let’s take a look at what the Pink & Main Challenge Team created with this month’s sketch!

For her card today, BreAnn created a gorgeous background starting with the Bees & Sunflowers Foilables®, then added some sweetly colored images from the Hey Honey stamp set for her loose interpretation of the sketch.

Brennan followed the sketch nearly to a T, using the Icing on the Cake stamp set. We love his sweet color combo!

We love how Dominique followed the sketch, and used her little bees as the embellishment part of the inspiration. Her images are from Planter Friends, and she added shimmer and shine with foiled elements from the Flower Power Foilables® Kit.

Jennifer has all kinds of fun details on her card. The main image is from Let’s Make Waves. We love that she used the big, bold Big Hello Dies, and that gorgeous paper is from the Mermaid Seas Paper Pack. And how about those cute little flying critters? She plucked those out of the Jars With Lids and Labels die set.

Michelle got her craft on this month with her July Crafty Courtyard kit. Are you a subscriber? The adorable Honey Bear stamp set is now available outside of the subscription, but that fun patterned paper she used was an exclusive perk of membership!

Rosie’s bright and happy card features the Pocket Dies. And how perfect is that blue from the Distress Tones Paper Pack for the look of denim??

We loved seeing all of your Ocean-themed cards from the July challenge! We randomly chose a winner from all of the entries – congratulations to Jenn Borgeson! Please send us an email to support@pinkandmain.com to claim your $25 store credit!

Now it’s your turn, we hope you’ll play along! You have until Wednesday, September 10 at 11:59pm ET to add your link to your NEW CREATION using our sketch to be eligible for the prize of a $25 store credit. (Cards created prior to this challenge are not acceptable entries.) The winner will be chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! Simply post your card photo someplace with public access – a blog, social media post, or host site that displays your entry – and add it into the Inlinkz link-up below. OR, add it to the August album in the Pink & Main Creations Gallery Facebook Group.

If you’re new to playing along with a challenge and uploading via Inlinkz, Brennan has kindly created a little video to walk you through the process. Watch it below, or HERE on YouTube.

Good luck and have fun playing!
