Who’s Ready for Turkey

Hi, everyone! Samantha here on the Pink and Main Blog exited to share two cute new Thanksgiving themed cards featuring products from the August release.

Usually when I make cards, I have a pretty clear design idea in mind before I start crafting. In the case of these two cards, things happened pretty organically starting with a fabulous new Foilable and stencil set.

The August release features the new Foliage Foilables Sheets that can be paired with the new Foliage Stencils to create something really beautiful. These products are also 8.5″ x 5.5″ so there is plenty enough to multiple card and different layouts using just one sheet.

To start I foiled a Foliage Foilable sheet using Gold CheerFoil and my Mini Minc Foiling Machine making sure to have the shiny side of the foil facing upwards. Once my foiling was complete I then used the accompanying layering stencils to add onto the foiled accents choosing Fall colors. The result, a beautiful floral panel waiting to be used.

For my first card, I trimmed the stenciled Foilable sheet down to 4″ x 5.25″ to use as my card panel. I then stamped an image from the new Harvest Turkeys Stamp Set in espresso ink onto Copic X-Press It paper. I colored the image, die cut it with the Harvest Turkeys Die Set, and then placed it aside to work on my layout.

Two fun new die sets were used for my layout, the Thin Flag Banner Dies and the Card Cut Essentials Die Set 1. I first cut two banners using the Thin Flag Banners Dies, one from white cardstock and one from kraft cardstock, using a 3rd banner die to cut out the inside of the kraft-colored banner. Next, I cut a stitched label from the Card Cut Essentials Die Set 1, also in kraft, and assembled my layout as shown above using both craft glue and foam tape.

To finish things off, I stamped a sentiment from the new Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set in espresso ink on white cardstock and die cut it using the Large Sentiment Strips Die Set. I matted my panel onto an A2-sized folding kraft card base and finished things of with a few Gold Sticky Gems.

I thought I was done after my first card but I kept staring at the leftover stenciled Foilable sheet on my desk and I decided I had to make another.

I stamped and colored another image from the Harvest Turkeys Stamp Set, die cut it, and then started on my card panel. I selected a fun pattern paper from the new Hello Fall Pattern Papers and cut it to 4″ x 5.5″ before adhering it to an ivory colored A2 folding card base. Next, I cut an ivory strip 5.5″ x 2.25″ and attached my stenciled Foilable sheet that had been cut to 5.25″ by 2″. I adhered the matted strip in an offset on the main card-base as shown and then attached my cute turkey and pie image with foam tape.

To finish everything off, I stamped a sentiment from the Harvest Turkey Stamp Set in espresso ink onto ivory cardstock and die cut it with a label die from the new Card Cut Essentials Die Set 2. I used a few more Gold Sticky Gems and then I was done.

I now had two super cute Fall cards with a minimum amount of effort. I mean…how cute are these turkeys?!
