Mini Rainbow Cards and TIPS with Savannah O’Gwynn

**I apologize in advance for these photos! I’m still not sure how to get great lighting in my new studio. Plus, the blue/green papers for these cards really made the images BLUE! LOL!

Hello, Pink & Main friends and fans!

It’s Savannah O’Gwynn, and I’m back to share a some QUICK and EASY mini cards using some scraps from the NEW P&M Tall Rainbow die, as well as several NEW stamps/dies from this past release!! I love this new rainbow die! It’s perfect for just about any card design and theme!

Lesson: NEVER throw away your scraps! You can use them on mini cards or sometimes the pieces are large enough to recreate the same design but with different colors for a regular sized card –for example, this Tall Rainbow die has several bows that are cut each time you die cut a color. You can make at least 5 cards with the same design but a different colored bow arrangement. Notice how my rainbow bows are different colors but all from the same scraps! #SAVfact: if you know me, then you know I love a “twofer” card… well this die gives you a FOUR-ER and sometimes a FIVER!!!! LOL🙃

Each card uses at least three of the bows from the Tall Rainbow die, a sentiment (embossed or stamped), and some gems or highlights. These are SUPER easy to make! Here are some tips that might inspire you:

  • Curve your sentiment to match the rainbow bow– this is achieved by placing the sentiment on a stamping block with a curve instead of on a straight line. TIP: I flip my sentiment over multiple times to make sure the curve of the sentiment matches the curve of my image. This can be tedious but it’s worth it! I love how the sentiment flows with the curve of the bow!!!!
  • Pop some of the rainbow bows up using foam tape— this P&M Foam Tape is my absolute FAVORITE!!!! By adding foam you give the rainbow more dimension which is needed on this little mini card!
  • You can create a one-layer (kind of) card by just gluing down the rainbow bows and stamping your sentiment inside the center bow. TIP: To add flare and just a tad bit of dimension, add a few sticky gems to the card front! It doesn’t take away from the one-layer design!! Sticky gems are the perfect final touches on cards!!!
  • TIP: You can cut your sentiments to fit a specific area on your card. This “Miss You” sentiment is from the Sweet Birds Sentiment stamp set– I cut this sentiment up so that I could place it in the middle of the rainbow. **If you don’t want to cut your stamps, you could always mask the sentiment with tape or washi tape, ink, and then stamp each sentiment. I like this technique as well… I just preferred to cut the sentiment this time around:) LOL!
  • TIP: Create an off-centered rainbow and then off-center the bows as well (notice how the green bow has been glued down wonky— this gives extra dimension. Now add foam tape like I mentioned above to one or two of the bows… and WOWZA! This adds lots of interest to the rainbow design!
  • TIP: You can use EVERY piece of this Tall Rainbow die on your cards. Notice on the card above that the sentiment was stamped on the CENTER piece of the rainbow! Instead of placing it inside the rainbow design, I used it as a “banner” for the sentiment! I LOOOOOOOOOOVE how this card turned out!
  • TIP: Create a “level” rainbow- all ends are the same level (as seen on my card above). Actually- you can make level rainbows, off-centered rainbows, sideways rainbows… this die is very versatile!
  • TIP: Mini cards don’t have to be plain! Add detail and dimension… sewing… embossing… ribbons… etc! Mini cards are STILL cards and mini works of art:)

I hope my mini cards have inspired you to pull out your P&M goodies and create using your scraps today!

I’ll be back with MORE to share soon! Please remember to share what you create using these techniques, if you are learning to color with me (I’ll be sharing MORE colored images soon), or if you use these P&M stamp/die sets so I can leave you some love ❤️

THANKS so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!!! Hugs ❤️ Savannah
