Hi everyone, Samantha here back on the Pink and Main blog excited to share more Easter-themed crafting fun using the new For Peeps Sake stamp set along with the For Peeps Sake Dies.
I like to mix up the card sizes I use, so for this stamp set, I thought it would be fun to show off these adorable images with a 5.5″ x 5.5″ square card. I first started by selecting two coordinating sheets of pattern paper. I chose a fun pink and blue flower pattern from the new Pop Flowers 6×6 Paper Pack, and a pink and white polka dot paper from the Pastel Dreams 6×6 Paper Pad. I often start my designs with pattern paper as my paper selections help inspire the colors I choose for my images.
Next, I stamped my images onto Xpress It cardstock in black ink before using Copic markers to color my images in shades of pink, blue, and yellow. After die cutting the images I arranged them onto my pattern paper, deciding to add a little visual interest by creating cutouts with the Zig Zag Circle Dies. Using three circle die sizes, I ran my pink polka dot pattern paper, cut to 5.25″ x 5.25,” through my die cut machine as shown in the image below.
Next up, assembly time.
To start assembly, I cut a 5 3/8″ x 5 3/8″ light blue cardstock mat and adhered it to a 5.5″ x 5.5″ square folded white card base. I then took my Pop Flower pattern paper, cut to 5.25″ x 5.25″ and adhered it to the light blue mat. Next, I added dimensional foam tape to the back of my die-cut polka dot paper before placing it on top of the Pop Flower paper. Also, using foam tape, I arranged each of my stamped images and attached them into their corresponding circle.
For my final step, I needed a sentiment. I die-cut the word “Hi” using the Simple Greetings Dies out of the same light blue cardstock as my mat, and then added a shadow layer in white. I used my shimmer pen to add a little sparkle the “Hi” before attaching a “Sweet Easter Greetings” sub-sentiment stamped in black from the For Peeps Stamp set.
Now my cute Easter card is complete and I need to find the Peeps lover in my family to give it to.
