Hello crafty friends! It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper, and I have a fun crafty card for you today. I’ve been really enjoying the benefits of moving back to Australia where many of my crafty friends live. I hope you have crafty friends too. Many of my crafty friends were made online in forums just like this blog!
Today’s card uses the new Fun Pastels 6×6 paper pack. I adore this pack! It gives off mixed media vibes, but instead of the ‘grunge’ look that many mixed media projects have (which is great, but just not my own personal style), this pack has a really pastel feel from start to finish. I used paper from the pack for the background (cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle 1 die), and also for the feature hearts. I stamped the cross stitch hearts from the Sew Sweet of You stamp set onto a sheet of the Fun Pastel paper with black ink, then cut the hearts with the matching Sew Sweet of You dies. I love how the die goes in and out around the crosses. I could never achieve that with my scissors!
The sentiment comes from another stamp set called Crafty Pals. This stamp set has the most adorable critters, but also some great sentiments. I have to admit that it was a bit of a squeeze to fit this sentiment on, and I had to use a black pen to close up the top of the ‘a’ , but I really REALLY wanted to use this sentiment! Can you see the lovely texture on the white panel. I made this using the Fun Stripes Embossing Folder. I love the different patterns that it gives. This would look amazing cut into strips!
This card is headed straight to a crafty friend of mine. I hope she really enjoys it! Until next time, may your friends, AND your days be crafty!
Blessings,
Donna
