Fun and Simple Black Foil Cards

Hi friends, this is Caitlin and I am sharing these really fun and quick cards with the new Midnight Black Cheerfoil. As soon as I saw the new cheerful color, I fell in love. I love how shiny and pigmented this looks and it’s so easy to do vs heat embossing with black powder. I wanted to make a really fun and colorful background for the bold black sentiments so I grabbed the new Brush Strokes Stencil and went ink blending crazy.

I started out by lining up the stencil along the bottom of my white paper panel and holding it in place with some washi tape. I added Nightsky Ink to the bottom half of the first brush stroke and Barbershop Ink to the top half. Then I shifted the stencil and layered the second stroke so that it was barely overlapping the first. This second time, I added Barbershop at the bottom and Lakeside Ink at the top. I repeated this process the whole way up using all of the stencil strokes and The Park, Construction and Dress Shop Inks. I made two of these panels and I really enjoyed this process and the results!!

For my sentiments, I cut out my choices from the Simple Greetings Stickies and the Autumn Greetings Stickies sets and turned my Mini Minc Foiling machine on and set to 1. I removed the backer plastic and arranged the sentiments onto the ink blended panel. I added a plain cardstock shim underneath and ran them through the Minc. I removed the plastic top layer and set the black foil pretty side up on each and repeated the Minc process. I added the colorful panels to an A2 sized Asphalt Card Stock card bases and decorated them with the Crystal Clear Enamel Dots. This card set just makes me so happy and I cannot wait to use this stencil again!
