Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am back today with a fun dragon card featuring the Hey Hot Stuff stamp set. I am so in love with this stamp set I couldn’t wait to color it up again and this time I decided to go a little more masculine since last time I made my dragon super feminine. I started out by stamping out the coffee dragon image and all three clouds with the Asphalt Premium Dye Ink and letting them dry for a few minutes.
I used blue and green Copic Sketch Markers to color in my images and kept the clouds very light. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out and then I got my card base ready. I trimmed down the blue plaid/check print from the Cool Basics Paper Pack to be 5.5 in x 4.25 in and added it to a side folding A2 sized Card Base. Then I trimmed down a scrap of Ice Rink Card Stock to be 5 in x 3.75 in and used the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder to add some tone on tone pattern to it. I used the EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue to attach the white panel to the card and then it was time to figure out the sentiment.
I stamped my sentiment onto a scrap of the white card stock with the Barbershop Premium Dye Ink. To make a little mat/frame I glued the sentiment strip into the corner of the left over pattern paper so that the left and top edges has a nice little boarder and then I used my paper trimmed to cut the other two sides to match(ish). I never get too caught up in the measurements when I do this, if it looks ok to your eye when you are doing it, it will look ok when you are done lol. I glued the full sentiment banner and cloud images all down flat with liquid glue and then I popped up my dragon with foam tape. The last step was to add some of the Touch of Gloss to the dragons glasses and let that dry (I left it overnight but I think 30-60 min would have been enough). I love this sweet card so much and I think it’s nice to have at the ready since it could work for so many occasions and people!
Caitlin and other Pink and Main design team members: Just a note to let you know for future cards made with this dragon (and other fantasy characters/creatures), you can share/link to The Fairy and The Unicorn challenge blog (TFATU). We accept anything fantasy with our monthly competitions open to any fantasy character/creature, including fairy tales. This is super cute and I love this itsy bitsy dragon! {P.S. I own 4 challenge blogs and co-own 2.}
super cute, I’ll share it in the Coffee Loving Papercrafters FB group.
