Bugs and Kisses Sweet and Simple

Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing another sweet and simple card that was really quick to make. I love that there are still enough small details to make this easy card still feel very special. I started out by picking the sweetest bee from The Buzz Stamp Set to be my featured image. I stamped it out with the Asphalt Premium Dye Ink and let it dry for a few minutes before coloring it in with Copic Sketch Markers. Once the wings were colored with a very pale blue-green shade and I cut the image out with the coordinating die, I added a thin layer of Touch of Gloss and then poured Stardust Chunky Glitter over it. I gave it another few minutes to set up a little bit and then I turned the paper over and tapped off the excess glitter back into the jar. I set this aside for another 20 minutes to make sure that it was completely dry.

I wanted to pick a really fun and bright pattern paper for the card base to help carry the design, so I chose this multicolored stripe from the Happy Paper Pack. I love how summery these colors are I think it works so well with the bee colors. I trimmed it down to 5in x 3.75in and added it with EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue to a side folding A2 Card Base.

I wanted to create a stage for my little bee to sit on so I cut the smaller stitched circle from the Layered Scallops Circle Dies from a scrap of Pebble Card Stock. In a perfect world, I probably would have cut it from the Lakeside Card Stock instead but I need to reorder lol. I heat embossed the Bugs and Kisses sentiment to the circle with the Frosting Embossing Powder to bring in another white element. I popped up the circle die cut with foam tape and then added the bee with more liquid glue. This would be a great design to make in bulk, or with all the different little bugs from that stamp set and just chunk it up into techniques. I hope everyone is having an amazing summer so far and you can always come hang out with me Live on Pink and Main’s Facebook page or YouTube Channel on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 pm eastern!!
