Hi friends, this is Caitlin and I am sharing a sneak peek of two new stamp sets coming out this week! I really wanted to play with these two smaller sets featuring these tall and slim critters. The Ruff Day Stamp set has the dog and the Pawesome Friend set has the cat. I knew starting out that I wanted to make two coordinating cards for these images and I started both with the custom pattern paper stamping. I cut two panels of Pebble card stock to be A2 sized (5.5 in x 4.25 in) and attached them to side folding card bases.
I used the smaller images from both sets to stamp out a random pattern paper effect. For the Ruff Day puppy card I used The Park Premium Ink to stamp the tennis balls and I used the Embossing Ink to stamp the bones and paw prints on both panels. I also brought in a medium grey ink to stamp the mice for the cat card. The trick with this type of stamping is to make sure you are stamping the images at all different angles and to make sure that some go off the edge of the paper. I love adding these kinds of panels to create the background of the card, I think they help to pull everything together. I also stamped the main images from both sets and colored them with Copic markers.
To create a focus on the main images, I layered some scrap white card stock and pattern paper from the Cool Basics 6×6 Paper Pack and then added the images to the center. I used The Park and Lakeside Premium Dye Inks to stamp out the sentiments onto white card stock and trimmed them down to fit the panels. I didn’t think these needed any bling or sparkle because the there was already so much going on. I love how sweet these cards came out and I hope you are as excited as I am for the new release!!
