Sneak Peek Cuckoo For You

Hi Friends! I am so excited to be sharing a sneak peek with you today. I instantly fell in love with the Cuckoo Clock Stamp set and while this would be adorable for a Christmas card with little red and green gnomes… I decided to make an anytime card instead. I just love how sweet these images are and this really is a great set to have for year-round use. I started out by stamping the main clock image and the bear (twice) with an alcohol friendly ink and colored them in with Copic sketch markers. I used some BG tones as well as some very neutral browns and a pop of gold tones. I used the same family for the darker browns as the lighter browns so that everything would feel really cohesive. I love the folk art feeling of these stamps and I cant wait to color them again already.

Once they were all colored up, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I grabbed the Pumpkin Season Paper Pack because I knew there was going to be a great teal option in there that would work with my colors. I picked the teal with white polka dots and trimmed it down to 5.5 in x 4.25 in and added it to a side folding A2 sized card base. I wanted to create a more solid background to hold my colored images so I trimmed some white card stock down to be 5 in x 3.75 in and ran it through my die cutting machine with the new Basket embossing folder for some beautiful tone on tone texture. I adhered the white panel to the card with EZ Squeeze liquid glue and then added the clock image to the top of the card. I used foam tape to add the bears so that they would be popped up for added dimension and then I realized that I needed a thinner sentiment to fit at the bottom under the clock. I borrow the “Hi friend” sentiment from the Fall Mice Stamp set and used the new Lakeside Ink to stamp it out. I added the sentiment with the same foam tape as the bears and that completed the card. I decided to not worry about adding shine or sparkle because I think the more clean and simple look really compliments the folk art feeling of the card.
