Pumpkin Spice Bear – plus a bonus video!

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna! I’ve been looking forward to autumn so much. Summers in Tokyo have to be survived, as the temperatures stay high day and night. This morning, for the first time in over three months, I opened the windows and a cool breeze flowed in. My heart is overflowing!

I have a really cute image to share with you today. He’s one of the sweet mugs in the Cocoa For You stamp set, and I’m using him as an example of a great card idea for highlighting a single special image.

I cut and coloured this sweet cocoa mug bear from the Cocoa For You stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured him with my Copics. I then cut him out with the matching dies. I have a video of the making of this card available on my YouTube channel at donnaisplayingpaper. If you’d like to watch. you can see it here. https://youtu.be/F5kLJeMOO_o

The background was made using Distress Oxides, blended directly onto the card base, which I had masked off with inch wide Post It Tape. I then spattered this with water, and quickly sopped it up – regular cardstock can’t take too much water. Then I peeled back the tape to reveal a nice clean border. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set over the bottom of the blended rectangle with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. It’s a really rich black that stands out even over the colours. The main image is popped up with foam tape.

This is a fun card recipe that you can use for lots of images, but I think the sweet bear mug and the autumn colours are a perfect match!

Until next time,

Blessings,

Donna
