Hi Friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and its sneak peek week for the August Release. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I have a special love for all fall and Halloween themed stamps. I instantly fell in love with the sweet spiders in the Halloween Brew Stamp Set. I really wanted this witchy spider to be the main focus of my card. I stamped it out in an alcohol friendly ink and picked decided on a Halloween tertiary color scheme (Orange, Purple and Green). I used Copic Markers to color in the scene and used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I am so in love with how the dies cut the extra spaces between the spiders legs, I think it adds a little extra fun.
I also stamped the sentiment with black ink and die cut that out- again, in love with the dies cutting out the sentiments in this set!!! I wanted to create a fun textured background so I grabbed the new Micro Dots Embossing Folder and used it on a panel of Asphalt Card Stock. I trimmed it down to be 3.75 in x 5 in and adhered it to an A2 sized panel of a dark orange card stock for a pop of color. When I adhered the scene and sentiment to the back card stock, it felt a little empty so I went hunting for something to add. I found a scrap of the star pattern from the Black and White 6×6 Paper Pack and trimmed two rows of stars out and added them to the top and bottom. I love how sweet and simple this card is and it really lets the spider shine. I hope you are feeling super inspired and I can’t wait for you to see the whole new release out this Friday!
