Make a birthday wish! Prepping stamps to get good images

Hello Pink and Main friends! It’s Donna here, back in Japan!I have some sweet treats for you today. These fun ice creams are super fun to make, and there are so many possibilities!

To make these cards, I started with the Make a wish stamp set and matching Make a Wish dies. You can use them both together, and also use just the dies to cut coloured paper too. The most important thing I did to make these cards happened before I used the stamps. I prepped them using a regular white eraser, rubbing gently over the stamping surface. This is really useful for all stamps, but especially important for solid stamps. I then wiped over the stamps with a lint free cloth to remove any spare eraser crumbs. I’ve gone with pastel colours for these cards, but bright colours would be so much fun!

I stamped the cups and ice creams before cutting them, then added the sprinkles, which I heat embossed . The blue sprinkles were embossed with Seaglass embossing Powder and the chocolate sprinkles were stamped in brown ink and embossed in clear. Finally the chocolate sauce was made by cutting the image from brown paper, and heat embossing the whole shape with clear embossing powder for some great glossiness.

To layer up the card, I used the Sympathy Slimline dies for the background. I love the sweet scalloped edge that this die gives. The sentiment comes from a truly gorgeous stamp set called Floral Shells. This is one of my all time favourite Pink and Main sets, and the sentiments are great as well. The purple card is called Evening Clouds.

With proper preparation, stamping solid images is so much easier. I hope that you’ve enjoyed this card, and that you are having a wonderful week. Until next time, may your days be sweet.

Blessings,

Donna
