Yappy Birthday!

Hello there! Katie here today with my first official post as part of the P&M DT! I am pretty excited to be here and share with you all 🙂

It just so happens that my dear Brother’s birthday is tomorrow so I made this card with him in mind. Of course it might be a little late getting there, post Christmas friends and family unfortunately get the short end of the stick from me, I am just exhausted from the holidays and unorganized. He won’t see this, but sorry Brother, I do love you! Anyhoo…

Here is the darling puppy wishing my Big Bro a happy Birthday. Isn’t he cute!? I was inspired to use the Falling for You paper pack because it had a masculine feel and wanted the challenge of using it for a non-fall themed card. I think it worked out and I made sure the rest of my colors complimented it.

I made this card by first stamping and die cutting my image from Diggity Dog Stamp and Coordinating Die Set on Copic friendly paper. I colored the image with my Copics ( _) and set it aside. I know some people start with light Copic colors, but I start with dark and then work my way to light. Next, I used cut the DP from the Falling For You to 4 X 5.25 and mounted it on a white base. Next, I found some complimentary yellow cardstock and used an oval die (Ahem… SNEAK PEEK ALERT) for this layer. I stamped my sentiment on this layer (for some reason it is washed out, so I guess you are seeing my imperfect side today, lucky!). Anyway, then I mounted the oval, mounted my image with foam tape and then added some embellishments for a nice finish.
