Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here and I have a fun slimline card to share with you today. My inspiration for this card was to create a whole field of daisies, with just a small sentiment.
The background for this card was made using Distress Oxide inks. The Ergonomic Blending Brushes and Mini Ergonomic Brushes are perfect for blending all types of inks. I’m really excited about the new cleaning system, with its scrubber and Squeaky Clean Brush Cleaner. Have you seen it yet?
For today’s card, I blended three colours of Oxide ink, then smooshed a little of each onto my craft mat, and mixed them with water before spattering them over the whole panel. You can see the spatters in the close up photo below. Once the panel was dry, I cut it using the Layered Slimline dies.
Next, I used the floral dies from the Sympathy Slimline Dies to cut some flowers. Two of the flowers in this die set cut flowers with a centre and an outline. I’ve used just the outlines here, and I’ll use the flowers on another card later. I glued each of the flowers to the panel, and then trimmed the excess off the edges. I’m not going to lie, this gluing was a little fiddly. I might have done better to use some double sided adhesive before I cut the flowers out. Still, it got done, my hands got washed, and I moved on!
Because the sentiment is so small, I used black so that it would stand out, and heat embossed in white. This sentiment comes from the Sunny Greetings Stamp set. This large stamp set has 16!! Sentiments, as well as four gorgeous sunflower images and matching dies for both the flowers and sentiments. It’s a great set for someone starting out in cardmaking because it’s so versatile. I layered up the panel and the sentiment with foam tape and my card was complete!
That’s all from me today. I hope you’ve enjoyed this card. Until next time, may your days be full of flowers!
Blessings,
