Pink and Main Christmas Box

Hey everyone. It’s Dana here with you today. I’m sharing a sneak peek of the Pink and Main Christmas Box. Oh this box is full of holiday cheer. I’m super excited to be able to give you a peek of what you can create with it.

I am such a lover of watercoloring these days so I created a cute little winter scene. The adorable pickup truck in this set is perfect for this time of year. So let’s get into how I created this card. No-line watercoloring was inspiration for today.

Pink and Main October Inspiration Box

This card was super easy to make. I stamped out a row of trees making sure to mask off several of them so I could build up a line of them on watercolor paper. I pulled out my watercolor palette and began coloring them with Daniel Smith watercolors. I used a variety of greens to give the trees some depth and variation. I didn’t want the sky part of the card to stay white so I did a very light wash of blue around the trees and used a paper towel to blot some off some of the paint to create very soft clouds. I added white gouache with a little bit of water to create the snow on the bottom portion of the card. While the background tried I worked on my truck.

Next I stamped out the truck on another piece of watercolor paper and also made a mask. I laid the mask over the truck and them stamped a tree to be placed on a slant right in the back of the truck. This was super easy to do. I pulled out one shade of red paint and did a quick wash of color over the truck. I continued to build up my color and even added in some color pencils to create a more saturated color. I did fill in parts of the truck like the tires and trim work with black. Moving onto my tree, I used the same shades of green to color it as I did the background. To make the snow on the truck I used white gouache with very little water.

I fussy cut the truck and set it aside to dry. The background at this point was completely dry so I could stamp out a sentiment and place the panel onto a pretty piece of paper from the new Be Merry 6×6 paper pad. (By the way, you are going to love this paper pad). All that was left to finish off the card was to pop up on truck with some foam tape.

Here is a closeup of my card. I can’t wait to see what you create with this set. Remember the release of all products is only three days away. So make sure to swing by the Pink and Main shop to get your box and so much more.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll see you back here soon.
