Watercolor Butterfly

Hello, crafty friends! This is Lynnea and I have a clean and simple watercolor card using the You Can Fly stamp set from the July release!

This stamp set is so clean and gorgeous! I started by inking the solid butterfly stamp from the You Can Fly stamp set with Distress Inks. I used my MISTI so that I could apply multiple layers of the ink. Once I had enough ink I sprayed my watercolor paper with water so that the ink would run, but still hold the basic shape of the butterfly. When I sprayed the water some of the ink spattered across the card. Rather than start over I just purposely added more paint spatters! I added the detail image on top with white embossing powder and the sentiment in black.

I felt like there was something missing, so I cut out the watercolor panel with a stitched rectangle die and matted it with some black cardstock also cut with a stitched rectangle die.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this “cheater” method of watercolor!

Lynnea
