Two Cards with Colourful Stenciling!

Hi there Pink & Main fans!! Laurie here to share 2 cards with you today featuring the new Clouds Stencil!! This stencil is fantastic.  The outer edges provide 4 different cloud patterns but there is also 3 different shaped shaped full sized clouds in the centre!  Flip the stencil over and now you have an extra 7 shapes/edges!!  SO many possibilities!!

I combined this new stencil with a couple of older sets from the shop.  I’ve had these sets for awhile and really wanted to get them inky!  My first card uses just the edges of the stencil.  I simply turned the stencil 360 degrees and added a different colour of Distress Ink each time. I did intend this to actually be clouds but instead used it upside down and it became water!!

I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks.  After the inking, I lightly flicked some water on to create a bit of texture (I used regular cardstock).

I stamped and coloured one of the sweet narwhals from the Narwhals Stamp Set and used the co-ordinating dies to to cut her out. That cute “stay awesome” speech bubble is from the same set!

I love how you can use this stencil for waves!!  I added a few “bubble” embellishments and this card was done!

My second card is quite a bit different but uses the same ink colours with the exception of Peacock Feathers.  This time I used the inner portion of the stencil which creates the full sized clouds.  My plan was just to have a few very colourful clouds on the panel but I just couldn’t stop and ended up with a pretty background that didn’t look like clouds at all!!  It kind of looked like a bunch of balloons really close together!!

I love the way it turned out. I die cut the centre out of the panel using one of the Scalloped Rectangle dies then created a frame using the same die and one larger.  I inked up that amazing Pineapple from the Aloha Pineapple set and used the die to cut it out.  I know this is not your traditional pineapple but because the background is fairly whimsical, I thought it would be okay!!

For the accents and the sentiment, I double heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  So, as you can see, two very different looks using the same stencil.  Just imagine how it would look if you actually used it as CLOUDS, haha!!

I love combining older products with new releases! Everything always works so well together!!

Thank you so much for stopping in today!! Hope you enjoyed my very different way to use the new Clouds Stencil!!

Until next time…

Laurie
