Sending Bear Hugs!!

Hello, friends and welcome back! Laurie here to share a cute winter themed card with you today!! I’m using stamps from the September release but I’ll have projects featuring the upcoming release soon:)!

I wanted to create a wintery snowfall background so what better stamp set to use than the Flurries set?! I’ve been using this set a lot lately because it’s just so perfect for this season! I started by choosing a variety of snowflakes from this set and clear heat embossing them onto a white card panel. You could also use white embossing powder for this.

Hard to see right now but after adding Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks, the snowflakes come alive!!

I love the emboss resist technique, don’t you??  The main character on my card is the adorable bear from the Eskimo Kisses Stamp Set.  I coloured him up using my alcohol markers and used the co-ordinating die to cut him out.

To create my scene, I started by trimming down the inked panel to approximately 3.25 X 4.25 inches.  I die cut two “snowbanks” using the Scallop Waves Dies out of white cardstock. I trimmed these down to fit the width of the snowflake panel.  I adhered one snow bank with liquid glue and the other with foam tape to give a little dimension.

I adhered the bear in a way that it looked like he was sliding down the hill which made me giggle just a little bit!  To add a little more detail, I added a cute lacy detail along the left side of the card using one of the Lacy Border Dies. I adhered my focal panel onto a light grey card base using liquid adhesive.

I ended up adding a few dots in the background with my white gel pen and silver glitter pen just to fill up the background a bit more. I also used a glitter pen on the scarf of the bear. I stamped the word “sending” on one of the snowbanks with three little dots to indicate the sentiment continues.  I always forget to leave room for the sentiment but this worked out in the end!!

The remainder of the sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card..

Thank you so much for dropping in this morning!!

See you soon!!

Laurie
