March Sneak Peek – Party Balloons

Pink and Main’s 5th birthday is so close!

We’re getting ready to celebrate in style, but in the meantime I have a sneak peek of a fabulous new stamp set that I know will be very popular.

It’s Donna here, and I’m very excited about the new release. Japanese customs are also apparently very excited about the release because they’re holding part of it as we speak, presumably to play with all the lovely goodies!

But, when you have the Party Balloons set, you can party plenty hard without the other products! I have a card for you that captures the bright happy vibe of the stamp set.

This balloon set has both clear and patterned stamps, so you can decorate your balloons, or not, depending on what style of card you want to make. I think this makes it very versatile.

I chose (almost) primary colours for my trio of balloons, and used three of the four balloons that come in the set. Depending on what colour the balloon was, I sometimes found it easier to stamp the pattern first, and then the balloon on top, particularly for lighter colours. (In secret confessions, I have tens of these balloons stamped out – once I started, I couldn’t stop!) I used the matching dies to cut out each balloon, then added a small bow to each balloon with crochet thread. I mounted each balloon with foam tape.

The background panel for this card was cut using the Stitched Rectangles set 1. I then used the Cloud Stencil to lightly blend on a cloudy sky.

The sentiment is stamped very simply in black Versafine ink, and mounted on teal card to match the rest of the card. Finally, to construct the card, I used more of the same thread, and ran three strings down to the bottom of the main panel. I tucked the ends in underneath and stuck them there with washi tape. I love how this card is fun, but not too busy. Also, it is quick to construct (and I have all those balloons to use…), and suitable for any age or stage of life – it’s a real all rounder.

I trust that this post has you excited for the new release. I know you’re going to love it as much as I do, and find it so useful to have in your stash.

Until next time, may your days be sunny (and crafty)

Blessings,

Donna
