Happy Mail

Hi,

todays inspiration is different, no card but 5 funny ways how to decorate your envelopes. For all envelopes I used stamp set Happy Mail, so adorable images and sentiments are in this set and they are just perfect for envelope decorations.

For this project you just need stamp set, some inks, something for colouring and maybe some self adhesive gems. Of course for envelope decoration you can use any of Pink and Main stamp sets.

Here are some of my tips:

  1. I tried decorate very cheap envelope made from thin papers and it was not so nice – on the pictures you can see this envelopes are rectangles. So if you want to decorate envelope do not hesitate to invest in slightly thicker one, you will see that results will be much better.
  2.  When you colour stamped images on envelope with alcohol markers always put inside envelope some scrap paper. Alcohol based markers are really juicy and have strong pigment and it can goes through both sides of envelope.
  3. When you use alcohol markers colour images really lightly, do not use many layers of colour again it is because of thickness of paper.
  4. You can stamp on both  sides of envelope, it is really fun.
  5. Do not use any big and heavy embellishments, I do not know how it is in USA but here in Europe post-mans really do not behave to envelopes nice, so it is better when envelope stays flat.
  6. Do not colour images with any watercolours or watercolour based markers, paper is not so strong to hold colour in place and it can bleed around stamped images. Even Distress inks are not good.
  7. For colour stamping I recommend dye inks.
  8. Do not use heat embossing on envelopes, it makes envelope really curly and it can damage envelopes glue.
  9. It is no problem to stamp layers but do not use heat gun for speed drying, again you can ruin envelope or its glue.
  10. Do not forget to leave place for address and stamp 🙂

And now it is time to see my easy decorate envelopes.
