Happy Campers – sunrise and sunset scenes

Hello crafters!

It’s Donna here with two cards made with similar techniques featuring the adorable Happy Camper stamp set. I really enjoyed colouring this set in bright fun colours to match the playfulness of the images.

I used copic friendly ink, and coloured all the images with Copic markers. I then cut the images out using the matching dies. Originally, I was thinking of doing a long card with all the images together in a single scene, but I changed plan part way through and made two scenes instead. I cut each of the scenes out using the Stitched Rectangles 2 dies. The largest of these dies is my favourite die of all time, as I love the small border it leaves around the image.

For the sunrise scene, I left the background plain, but for the sunset scene, I added some water splashes and then some sparkly splashes to create the feel of a few stars appearing in the sky.

The backgrounds were made by ink blending onto smooth cardstock. I used some tape to create a horizon. One of the things I’ve learnt about blending above and below a line, is to make sure you overlap your blending just a smidge. This looks much better than a ‘gap’ between the earth and sky.

It’s always such a pleasure to create using the Pink and Main stamps and these cards were no exception. I look forward to sharing more cards with you soon.

Until then, happy crafting ,

Blessings,

Donna
