Embossing with Cover Plates

Welcome back! It’s Mindy with Mindy Eggen Design and today I’m doing some embossing with cover plates.
Today’s card is giving you another sneak peek of the new release from Pink & Main that will be available for purchase on February 10th.
Part of the new release is this awesome cover plate die of puzzle pieces. You can run that through your die cut machine and get a bunch of puzzle pieces which is really fun. What I tried was embossing it instead.
I started out with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended a rainbow. I used Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide. I blended the Abandoned Coral and Squeezed Lemonade to make the orange and blended the Squeezed Lemonade with the Mermaid Lagoon to make the green. Beautiful rainbow and such vibrant colors!
I use a Big Shot Machine so I open my plate to tab 2, put down a cutting plate, then a rubber mat, added my blended panel, put my cover plate on top of that and then my final cutting plate to make the sandwich. This allowed me to emboss the puzzle pieces instead of cutting it out.
I added the embossed panel to a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″  The bear is colored with copic markers and cut out with the coordinating die set and I also cut a piece of white cardstock from the Stitched Rectangle die for my sentiment. My bear is added on with some foam squares for dimension.
The finishing touch is adding these super cool Enamel dots. They are so pretty in person!
Something different to help get more out of your dies!
