Deck the Palms

Hi there! It’s Jeannie and I’m back to share a card with you today.

Is it too early to make Christmas cards? I don’t think so. It’s the time of year where the cutest Christmas stamp sets are starting to roll out. Pink and Main’s newest release contains tons of amazing Christmas sets and one of my favorites is Deck the Palms. I live in San Francisco, where we don’t really have seasons but I know a lot of other places experience a sunny and warm Christmas. This set is perfect for this!

I decided to use only the palm tree, which is pretty large, for my card. I wanted it to be the main focus so I spent extra care coloring up this image. Once I finished, I used the coordinating dies to help cut out this stamped image.

Next, I focused on the background creating a beach scene using distress inks. I masked off three layers, one for the sky, one for the water, and one for the sandy beach.

For the sentiment, I used a mix of two sentiments from the stamp set: Tickled Pink for the holidays and warm wishes. I masked off the Tickled Pink part of the sentiment and created the new sentiment “Warm Wishes for the holidays”.

I really love how this card just uses one image, yet easily stands out. I love the idea of having a warm holiday — sounds amazing, doesn’t it?!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and that you check out the Pink & Main’s new release.
