Creative Heat Embossing | Breakfast Fun

If you want to add realistic details to your hand made card, embossing powder will help you easily.

Hello, Everyone!

Today Ksenija is here and I am sharing a Clean and Simple card with you featuring the Breakfast Fun stamps and co-ordinating dies set and demonstrating a creative use of an embossing powder.

Embossing powders are often used to stamp shiny outlines or images – but that’s not all. Here is how to add real life details without using embossing ink.

The idea behind the card is a frying pan with two egg and a slice of bacon. The adorable images are die cut, stamped and coloured with alcohol markers.

To enhance the resemblance I covered the egg yolks with a shiny glue, but also added shiny speckles to the black round mat.

In order to create this effect I sprayed the black circle with a clear water and covered with black embossing powder, shook the excess powder off and heat embossed it. Fine powder sticks well to wet surface.

To finish off my card I stamped the punny sentiment from the Breakfast Fun set down onto cream card note, glued the black heat embossed circle and popped the images up with a super thick foam tape.

I hope you will find this post inspiring and you will play with the Breakfast Fun stamps and dies set in a creative way.

Thank you so much for stopping by this morning! Have a great day!

  1. Such a clever addition to your design. I find that heating from the underside is a great way to be sure the powder doesn’t fly off.
