Butterfly Hello

Welcome back!! Laurie here to share a pretty card in shades of blues and purples.  This card uses one of my favourite P&M stamp sets, You Can Fly.

I stamped and heat embossed this gorgeous butterfly with silver embossing powder and loosely watercolored it with Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks.

I used the co-ordinating die to cut it out, I set it aside to work on the background.  I die cut a white panel using the largest of the Stitched Rectangles Set 2 dies.  I masked the edges with one inch painters tape and blended Dusty Concord Distress Ink onto the centre of the panel. Before removing the tape, I inked up a portion of the Butterfly Background with the same ink and stamped it down.

For the sentiment, I used the “hello” that comes from the Wreath Base Dies.  I cut it out of watercolour paper and used the Victorian Velvet ink to add a bit of colour.  All that was left to do was put everything together.

I die cut 3 more of the hello’s and stacked them together to create some dimension.  I used liquid glue on the body of the butterfly and a couple of foam dots on the wing to keep them popped up.

And to finish off, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the sentiment and also to parts of the butterfly wings!

Thank you for taking the time to drop by today!  This is my last post before Christmas so I’d like to wish you and yours Happy Holidays!

See you soon,

Laurie
