Butterfly Background

Hello there! Jeannie, here today, back to share another bright and colorful card. You know, I’m not much of a “sun” fan, but I’m really enjoying all the sunny days this summertime and I think I’m really digging all the summery colors.

I love creating super simple cards for many reasons: they are quick, they are easy, and they are gorgeous. This particular card, I’m only using one main stamp (Butterfly background) and a sentiment (You Can Fly).

First, I’m decided to heat emboss using this Butterfly background. It’s insanely detailed, which is amazing! I actually stamped it laying the stamp face up, added watermark ink, and placed my cardstock on top of it so I could rub it with my fingers/hands to make sure I got every inch covered.

Once I heat embossed this card panel, I decided to add an ombre of yellow to red ink to the card panel. I love how the heat embossed areas resist the ink and you can really see all the details of this stamp.

I grabbed a sentiment from the You Can Fly stamp set and stamped on black cardstock. This went perfectly with this background.

Lastly, I trimmed down the card panel a bit so that I could place this on a black card base so it’ll frame the panel and let the colors really pop!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and I’ll see you next week for another video.
