Hi everyone! Can you believe that it’s already mid-August? Next thing you know it’ll be Christmas! But first… FALL! and what is the first sign of fall? Pumpkin spice drinks of course!
Today, I’m sharing a bit of a sneak peek of some of the August release. Get ready to be excited!
I created a pretty simple card using a mix of stamps and dies. First, I used a piece of watercolor paper and used distress inks to create an ombre background using browns, orange, and yellow. I decided to use the Basket Cover Dies to be placed over the background. I love the effect of how the color pops through the die cut card panel.
I did think that it was hard to focus on the stamp images with this background, so I wanted to have a focal point for the stamped images. I used one of the smaller die from the Stitched Top Note set and used it to cut through the Basket Cover as well as cut out the shape from a piece of white paper. I used it to inlay into the Basket Cover. This was the perfect setting for the stamp set.
I chose two images from the Pumpkin Spice stamp set and stamped them out directly on the Stitched Top Note. I also wanted to use one of the sentiments but masked off the words so it could fit perfectly in the remaining white space. To help the Stitched Top Note pop, I used a marker in the same color scheme to color around the stitched frame.
Doesn’t this look pretty!? I love how the Basket Cover die looks so intricate over the ombre background.
